This Gremlin for sale is a Levi edition. It has only 61,452 miles on it, has a clear title, has passed Texas state inspection and is clear till January 2010.

For those of you that remember, the Ford Pinto was one of the main competitors against the AMC Gremlin, enough so that AMC made a comparison commercial.

Why the AMC Gremlin is Better Than a Ford Pinto

Cheaper
6 cylinder over a 4 cylinder in the Pinto
Fold down rear seat
Wide hatch
Gas tank is less likely to explode in a rear end collision
Will be widely collected in the near future

While most of this decision has to do with preference, you will often find in many debates that lines have been drawn and sides have been split. You can't change an AMC enthusiasts mind about the Gremlin, the same goes for Ford lovers.

However, since this is a versus article, one car has to be chosen over the other, which is of course the AMC Gremlin.

You can find both project and restored Gremlins here. The price is fair and often you get what you pay for. As this car continues to gain popularity among collectors you should see more restored Gremlins available for sale on eBay.

Despite contrary belief, eBay is one of the safer places to buy a used car online. Try eBay...

Craigslist
While the Gremlins you may find here are on the bottom end, there are plenty of potential project gremlins available for sale. The downside of using Craigslist is many sellers do not want to ship the car, so you will have to do most of the work.

Try looking in your local area, then state, then however far you are willing to drive and ship. Try Craigslist...

This 1976 AMC Gremlin X for sale comes with 98,000 miles on it, and just recently passed state inspection in New York. It is a 3 speed automatic 6 cylinder.

Has AC, brand new tires, front disc brakes, power steering, and roof rack. This AMC Gremlin was recently restored in 2005.

1975 AMC Gremlin X Levis edition for sale. This AMC Gremlin is a 3 speed 6 cylinder classic, a must have for any collector. It has 155,000 miles on it, but has absolutely no rust issues. A/C, disk brakes, power steering, and other standard features are on it. Has a rebuilt engine that runs great. A massive amount of parts and memorabilia are also given to the new owner.

In Excellent Condition

Door panels

Has original spare

In Good Condition

Paint is 80-90% original
Bumpers are in pretty good condition
Engine

Needs Some Work

The original radio has been replaced with an aftermarket radio that has poor reception and sound quality
Some very minor surface rust spots on outside of car
Driver seat has small tears on the bottom of the seat
Temp gauge does not work
Backseat carpet is faded
Missing the handle for the original car jack
Front left fender has some minor dents
Seatbelt light does not go off
If not ran for a couple weeks the carb will need to be primed to start it
A/C does not blow cold air
Speedometer reads a little off

Seats have minor tears, but can easily be repaired.
